Head Senior Club Coach Kimberley Waterhouse
With over 14 years of gymnastics experience as an elite performer and as a coach, Kimberley runs one of the newest sucessful clubs to enter the scene in Barnsley.
Her gymnastics career started at school joining an after school club where her love of gymnastics became her life.
Sarting at the bottom of the ladder in a local club winning the Barnsley Championships 3 times, she then moved on to one of Yorkshires most successful clubs in Sheffield where she competed in Womens Artistic gymnastics winning the Yorkshire Championships and Team Championships at the age of 10 and 11.
She then moved on to Tumbling competing at regional and National Competitions, as well as competing in Acrobatics at a lower level.
Unfortunatley due to injury she had to retire from gymnastics at age 13, but this lead to her coaching Qualifiactions and 5 years worth of voulantry coaching at local Gymnastics Clubs around Yorkshire.
Her Volunteer work paid off when she was chosen to represent Barnsley as a Sporting Hero to help advertise a healthy living campaign, appearing in newspapers and Billboards across Yorkshire.
This lead to her being nominated for an Award at the South Yorkshire Sports Awards 2006 and Won the Barnsley Young Volunteer of the Year Award at the Barnsley Sports Awards 2006.
She was then chosen to appear in the Sugar Magazine as an Inspirational Role model for young teens encouraging them to get active within sport and meet their goals.
Also in 2007 Kimberley was nominated as Young Coach of the Year at the Barnsley Sports Awards and won the Inspirational Role Model Award at the S75 Community and Leraning Awards Ceremony.
Later in 2007, Kimberley found an opportunity to get back into gymnastics aged 17 as well as studying at college, taking coaching qualifications and running a gymnastics club, she jumped at the chance to compete again, after 4 years without training, Kimberley was selected to represent her club at the Yorkshire Acrobatic Championships 2007 and won Gold. This qualified her and her trio to compete in the British Championships 2008 where Kimberley Competed with her Trio at Womens Open International level.
After finishing her National Diploma at college, Kimberley then dedicated her time to Black Diamond Gymnastics Club and finally retiring as a Gymnast age 19.
Kimberley is now qualified in the following:
Trampolining, General Gymnastics, Womens Artistic Gymnastics and Cheerleading.
Coach Donna Waterhouse
Assistant Coach Chrystal Waterhouse
Kimblerley's little sister Chrystal, aged 15, has 6 years of gymnastics experience.
She is a current Black Diamond Gymnast who has trained as a National Acrobatic Gymnast at Rotherham Sports Acro Club, Competing in Regional and National competitions, winning the Barnsley Championships 2 years ago and has competed in the Yorkshire Acrobatic Championshis 3 times. Chrystal is now training at Wakefield Gymnastics Club where she will further her career as an acrobatic gymnast.
Chrystal aspires to be a highly Qualified Gymnastics coach and hopes to achieve her goals as a High Performance Gymnast.
She has lots of potential to go far with her gymnastics career and is very much appreciated for all the hard work that she puts into the club along side her sister. Chrystal is a hard worker and strives to perfection who passes her enthusiasm to other young coaches and gymnasts, who look up to chrystal for inspiration which gives the club and its participants that little sparkle.
Chrystal really puts the 'Diamond' into Black Diamond Gymnastics Club. : )

Assistant Coach Christina Demetriou
Christina aged 15 is a current Black Diamond Gymnast with only 18 months worth of training, she showed her talent when coming 2nd place at our last internal competition and is already representing our club at the Level 6 Yorkshire Sub Regional Competition in May.
In a short period of time Christina has shown passion and dedication to gymnastics, she has excelled dramatically as a gymnast and has the potential to be an excellent young coach.
Christina is a fantastic young coach who also aspires to become highlty Qualified in gymnastics and would like to build her career as a gymnastics coach.
Assistant Coach Froso Demetriou
Froso also aged 15 is another of our Black Diamond Gymnasts with great potential to go far as both a coach and gymnast.
Froso has only 18 months of gymnastics experience but has showed her talent as a gymnast at the Black Diamond Championships 2008 comming Bronze Medal position amongst our top gymnasts in the club.
In the short length of time Froso has spent with us, she has also been picked to represent the club in the Level 6 Yorkshire Sub Regional Competition in May showing dedication and vast improvement as a gymnast.
Froso wishes to become an elite performer as well as becoming a highly Qualified coach in the future and she has the potential to do both.
